Love Our Children USA To Raise Funds For Katrina Victims
"100 percent of the donations will provide children with safe shelter, food and clothing," said Ross Ellis, founder and chief executive officer of Love Our Children USA.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 9, 2005 -- Love Our Children USA announced today that a group of firefighters will volunteer their time on Saturday, September 10th to raise money for the Kids of Katrina Fund established by Love Our Children USA.
"While hundreds of thousands in the Gulf Coast region have lost their homes and jobs -- whole communities have been demolished," said Ross Ellis, founder and chief executive officer of Love Our Children USA, a national nonprofit dedicated to breaking the cycle of violence against children through education and awareness. Families face months and years of uncertainty as they cope with the reality of this crisis."
Ross also believes that the aftermath of Katrina has stranded many child victims and their needs must be the nations priority.
When a group of firefighters from the Fullerton County Firefighters Association read about Love Our Children USAs newly established Kids of Katrina Fund they decided to give up their day off this coming Saturday to hold a fundraiser for this group.
The firefighters will man tables in front of Costco, 900 South Harbor Blvd, Fullerton, CA 92832 from 11AM - 4PM and raise money for the Kids of Katrina. Firefighter Michael Beecham is the organizer of the group.
Love Our Children USA set up the fund for children from the hardest hit areas of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. 100 percent of all donations collected will provide the children with safe shelter, food, clothing, educational and play materials. The money will also cover any other urgent needs as families recover. The organization is also making calls on behalf of families whose children are lost and or missing to try to reunite them.
Love Our Children USA is so grateful to the Fullerton County Firefighters and we know that their generosity will make these children's lives brighter," said Ellis.
