The Society for Nonprofit Organizations (SNPO) announced today a series of online courses designed to focus on enhancing skills for managers in the nonprofit sector. SNPO's Learning Institute has implemented an eight-program series of online courses entitled ÂExcellence in Non-Profit Management and Leadership that focuses on the key result areas of managing and leading a nonprofit organization.
Course topics include strategic planning, financial management, marketing, resource development, social entrepreneurship, volunteer management, board development and strategic alliances. Program graduates will receive a Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management with continuing education credits from Michigan State University. The online courses will include video, audio, print materials and slideshow in a custom-developed interface. Students who are interested in an interactive learning experience can also sign up for a facilitated Group Study program which begins on September 15th.
"We are very excited about these nonprofit management courses, SNPO President Katie Burnham Laverty noted. ÂBy providing these courses online, we are meeting the nonprofit sector's continuing education needs in a convenient, effective way. Nonprofit organizations are increasingly important to the quality of life in our communities and provide services which would otherwise not be available or affordable. They are vital in setting the public agenda and influencing government policies.Â
