Don't Miss Wax Poetic Gallery's Sixth Annual Halloween Show Featuring the Art of Matthew Price

Solo exhibition by expressionist painter Matthew Price will run October 8 through November 15 at Wax Poetic Gallery located in Burbank, Ca.

(PRWEB) September 14, 2005 -- Vampire Cosmetics & Wax Poetic Gallery are proud to present their sixth annual Halloween Show featuring a solo exhibition by expressionist painter Matthew Price. Opening reception will be held Saturday October 8, 2005 from 8 pm to midnight at 3208 West Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank. The exhibition will run through mid November and will feature original art, prints will also be available.

Matthew Price started painting acrylics on canvas seven years ago and began exhibiting throughout Southern California shortly thereafter. While his work is not yet well known, he has acquired a few rather prestigious collectors including Copro Nasons Greg Escalante and clothing designer Jade Howe.

Price describes his paintings as closely connected stories that contain themes and messages that evolve out of his own nightmares. The figures in his paintings are based on the people and situations he comes across in everyday life. Gallery owner Kerry Nicole says, Matthews work is haunting and beautiful. The characters in his paintings have a fragile elegance and appear innocent to the nightmare that surrounds them."

The Halloween show at Wax Poetic Gallery is considered one of the most important events of the season. Traditionally it is also a Gothic Ball with attendees dressed to the nines in celebration of the upcoming holiday. In addition to the art & fashion, there will be adult tricks or treats (wine, cheese & chocolate) and records spinning by well known gothic D.J.s Scott Weaver and Christopher Hall.
