John Amen is a writer, musician, and artist. His first collection of poetry, Christening the Dancer, was released by Uccelli Press in 2003 and nominated for various awards, including the Kate Tufts Award, the Lenore Marshall Award, the Oscar Arnold Young Award, and the Brockman-Campbell Prize. In addition, he was recently nominated for a Pushcart Prize. His second collection, More of Me Disappears, has just been released by Cross-Cultural Communications and is now available for purchase. Amen is the founder and editor in chief of the award-winning literary bimonthly, The Pedestal Magazine, which will celebrate its five-year anniversary in December 2005.
Christine E. Laine is a 2 time Pushcart Prize Nominee (2004 and 2005). She lives in Virginia, in the shadow of crow's wings passing over as they fly off buildings shorter than the Washington Monument in nearby DC. She is left handed, was once an "extra" in a movie with Nicholas Cage, and spends spare time (when there is any) flying around in old warbirds. She has written three full-length volumes of poetry (Allegory, The Weight Of Dust, and Postcards From A Summer Girl) and three chapbooks (Suburban Fairy Tales of Brilliant Ash and Blue Sins, with Michael Paul Ladanyi; Alice in Wonderland; Origami Flower). She is editor of Little Poem Press, VLQ (Verse Libre Quarterly), and Erosha. Her work has been appeared in several anthologies and countless publications, both in print and online.
Jennifer Gresham works as a chemist by day and a poet by night. She grew up on the outskirts of Tampa, FL. and attended the U.S. Air Force Academy, where she earned a B.S. in biochemistry and a commission as a second lieutenant. She's since lived in Oklahoma, California, Colorado, and now Maryland. She recently received her Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Maryland. Her work has appeared in over a dozen poetry journals, including The Atlanta Review, Poet Lore, New York Quarterly, and The Ledge. Her chapbook, Explaining Relativity to the Cat, was published in 2004 by Pudding House Press. That same year, Diary of a Cell, a full-length collection of poems, won the 2004 Steel Toe Books Poetry Prize, judged by Charles Harper Webb. It is scheduled to be released in April 2005.
Cheryl Snell's work has appeared in dozens of journals such as Antietam Review, Petroglyph, Comstock Review, Washington Review and River Oak Review. Her novel Shiva's Arms won an honorable mention from the Dana Literary Awards and was a finalist for the Omaha Prize. Her first chapbook of poetry entitled Flower Half Blown was published in 2002 by Finishing Line Press and has been nominated for the Ohioana Book Award in Poetry.
