Talented Young Artist Touches Many with His Gift
Shawn Button, 18, of Wyomissing Pa, says he knew he wanted to become a professional artist after seeing Alexandra Nechita (prodigy art child) at age 11 on the Oprah show. Shawn says, I was dead set, I knew this is what I wanted to be, I wanted to be like her."
(PRWEB) September 15, 2005 -- "Having my work truly touch people drives me more than anything... my favorite pieces are those which touch people the most," explains Shawn Button when asked what inspires him to paint. This seemingly endless passion began when Shawn was eleven, when he became inspired by a young artist, Alexandra Nechita who was featured on Oprah.
Now eighteen, Shawns passion has flourished and has taken him all over the globe where he had the privilege of studying under world renowned Charles C. Gruppé, a member one of Americas most respected art families. Shawn could hardly resist the opportunity to paint with Gruppé in Portugal and Venice and described his time in Italy as one of the most inspirational and aw inspiring experiences of his life. I wanted to paint everything, and really had a difficult time putting my brush down to enjoy the Venetian culture and way of life."
Despite what many had envisioned Shawn should do with his life, both of his parents have always supported the path of their extremely talented son. Shawns most recent success story was a feature profile done by clothing retailer Abercrombie and Fitch, in which his work was placed on their website. Although having just been commissioned to paint a sizable mural for a large regional bank located in central Pennsylvania, Shawn has never lost site of what it means to truly touch people with his art, he recently donated several of his works to support AIDS Research as well as assist a local family whose daughter battled cancer.
