All the Horror, Thrills and Drama of Final Destination 3 Captured in Third Sequel Shot in 3D With Cooke Lenses

Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Ryan Merriman star in Final Destination 3, an action-packed horror film shot in 3D with innovative Cooke S4 Prime Lenses.

Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) September 16, 2005 -- Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Ryan Merriman star in Final Destination 3, an action-packed horror film shot in 3D with innovative Cooke S4
Prime Lenses.

After a high school senior, Wendy Christensen (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), has a fatal premonition of a disastrous roller-coaster accident that involves her and her friends, she warns everyone and luckily gets herself and many of her friends off the roller coaster just before it sets off. The roller coaster starts off and crashes just like in her premonition. Soon she teams up with friends, Kevin Fischer (Ryan Merriman) as well as many other people who try and cheat death. Will they succeed or will they learn a lesson that you cant cheat death?

In the thrilling roller coaster disaster scene the filmmakers used a combination of an actual roller coaster at a Vancouver amusement park, computer-generated extensions, wire stunts, computer animation and actual actors in simulated cars shot against a green screen. Robert MacLachian, Director of Photography, captured the fast paced-action through Cooke S4 Prime lenses. The S4 design, winner of a technical Academy Award®, Emmy Award®, Cinec Award and Queens Awards, incorporates innovative features for superb control of flare, distortion, veiling glare and spherical aberrations at full aperture. The cam-type focus mechanism gives smoother focus adjustments and allows for better-spaced and clearer lens markings.

The S4 Primes include focal lengths of 14, 16, 18, 21, 25, 27, 32, 35, 40, 50, 65, 75, 100, 135mm and the recently introduced 180mm with a close focus of only 43." In addition, all focal lengths are color balanced, achieving excellent contrast and resolution over the full Super 35 format. Cooke S4 Primes give excellent definition in low light or shadow and warm image under all external, arc, or fluorescent lighting and feature Cookes acclaimed multicoating, providing whats known in the cine realm as the Cooke Look" -- a lush, velvety appearance with rich warm colors.
