BreakThru Radio Sets Record and Reaches Two Million Listeners in Less than Two Months

With the launch of BreakThru Radio (BTR) less than two months ago, more than two million listeners around the globe have tuned in through the Internet and had the opportunity to hear unsigned and independent artists for the first time.

New York, NY (PRWEB) September 15, 2005 -- The underground music world played on BreakThru Radio of un-signed and independent artists has proven to be a mass world-wide need to listeners world-wide.

With the launch of BreakThru Radio (BTR) less than two months ago, more than two million listeners around the globe have tuned in through the Internet and had the opportunity to hear unsigned and independent artists for the first time. BTR exclusively plays a new band during every broadcast, bypassing repetitive playlists.

The DJs of BTR have established their own shows based upon the music they choose to play instead of relying on "computer generated" programming. BTR DJs are distinct individuals that have had the opportunity to allow listeners to get to know their personalities. They are "musicologists" who have been able to tell listeners how they feel about music, why they love it and why they are playing it.

The format of BTR has allowed a new resurgence for independent music proven by the phenomenal overnight success of the station. "There is the way radio is supposed to be," said Co-Founder Cal Rifkin. "DJ's have total control regarding the content of their shows. The success we're had in the first two months shows that they are providing the content and new talent that the listeners want. BTR will go to the far corners of the music world to deliver the goods."

BTR is trying to bring back the creativity and originality that make up the building blocks of a true musician and artist. This station allows the boundaries of music to be broken and encourages the exploration of music. The listeners of BTR can fall in love with the music of these artists, not just their image.

BreakThru Radio's mission is to expose unheard artists and provide the original listening experience of hearing a new band for the first time. The eclectic DJs have incorporated music from all genres. BTR has given a voice to a growing list of artists and DJs and now it is known that this voice is being heard and supported by over two million dedicated listeners.

BTR can be heard on www.breakthruradio.com or www.NYTrack.com, New York's only website dedicated to the tri-state high school track community thus reaching over 5 million high school students. For additional information about BreakThru Radio, please contact John Krisiukenas: 917-609-4844.
