(PRWEB) September 19, 2005 -- The Lake County Republican Party recently organized a fundraiser for our Troops raising $1,800 that was given to the USO. The event was held at Meximillians restaurant in Mentor and was attended by almost 200 people. "This was a tremendously successful fundraiser to show Lake County's support of our Troops. Everyone wants to make this an annual event, which we definately will," said Dale Fellows, Chairman of the Lake Co. Republican Party. In addition to raising $1,800, everyone in attendance signed a banner that read "Lake County, Ohio Supports Our Troops," which will be sent to Iraq.
This weekend, at the "It's Better In Mentor Days" festival, the Republican Party will once again raise money for the USO as well as for The Salvation Army's Katrina Relief efforts. "We will have the traditional red Salvation Army kettle for the Katrina Relief efforts and the USO fundraising opportunities at our booth this year," said Chairman Dale Fellows. "We unanimously agreed that this is the best use of our annual booth and volunteer time."
