Bahiyah Woman Magazine (BWM) the premier lifestyle magazine for todayÂs spiritually conscious professional black man and woman is planning to give ÂThe Big Apple a ÂTaste of ChicagoÂ. On October 7th BWM lands in New York City ready to celebrate Chicago styleÂand cool jazz is all she wrote. ÂWe couldnÂt bring Chicago food, so Chicago jazz is on the menu, comments Bridgett Hollingsworth, Publisher of BWM.
The swank evening kicks off on Friday October 7th at 8 pm and runs through midnight. ValarieÂs Soulfood Services & Artists Lounge hosts Bahiyah Woman Magazine and its readers in the heart of Brooklyn with a delicious Southern soul food dinner. The evening is complete with homemade dessert, open bar and live entertainment. Guests are advised to come hungry and ready to have a great time! There is no pretense planned for this gathering, just lots of fun.
Live entertainment is by ChicagoÂs own sultry DIVA-saxophonist D-Erania. This is her first New York performance, but it certainly wonÂt be her last. She is worth the $30 ticket price alone! D-Erania will be performing new music for the event. Her debut CD Offerings of Love, received rave reviews nationally and there is excitement in the air surrounding her first New York appearance. This is a must see performance!
The BWM-NYC ÂTaste of Chicago is a true celebration and an opportunity for readers and supporters to come face-to-face with BWM-the magazine they helped put on the map. ItÂs an opportunity to meet the Publisher, Sr. Editor and some of the writing team. There wonÂt be a boring awards ceremony, any pomp and circumstance. This is definitely an evening planned with socializing and networking in mind. ÂI hope there will be lots of aspiring writers there, echoes Sharon Stinson Gray, Sr. Editor.
BWM will be raffling off a two-night stay at BeckyÂs by the Sea, a resort villa in the CaribbeanÂs Barbados with 100% of the proceeds from the raffle going to support victims of the hurricane Katrina disaster. The Offerings of Love CD will also be available for purchase on October 7th with a portion or proceeds supporting hurricane Katrina victims as well.
Publisher of BWM Bridgett Hollingsworth shares, ÂWeÂre celebrating our launch to weekly magazine status, which is a great feat for us. Many of the readers and supporters who helped make this happen live in New York and in East coast cities. It only made sense that weÂd bring our ÂTaste of Chicago to ÂThe Big AppleÂ. This is going to be a fabulous evening!Â
