At last! Elen SentierÂs spellbinding novel, OWL WOMAN, reaches the American market with Lulu (http://www.lulu.com), the worldÂs fastest-growing provider of print-on-demand books.
Owl Woman is a novel of murder, mystery & revenge set in the magical Celtic wilds of Exmoor, in England.
The heroine, Vicki, wakes out of a dream in which her father is killed by the phone ringing. She picks it up. ItÂs the housekeeper ringing to say her father is dead; her dream has horribly come true.
She goes home, after many years away because of a row with her fatherÂs mistress, to find out what happened. Old things begin to surface, her fatherÂs obsession with his ancestors; his mistress' mania to find the Bridewell Grail; her own lover from the past. And the Owl Woman  the spirit of the place  herself, wanting to settle old scores. Vicki has to sort it all out, if she can.
Elen Sentier wrote Owl Woman because it is the story of her village, her aunt owned the spring around which the novel is set and the Owl Woman is the genius loci, a 4000 year old legend which is till alive today. The village church is named for her, the goddess of the land since ancient Celtic times.
ÂIndependent publishing and print-on-demand is the way forward  today, said Elen Sentier. ÂThe Lulu process allows me to cut out the middle man (i.e. a separate publisher) and get my work out there in the way I want it. It makes it possible for me to have my books available internationally as well. At last, the author is in control.Â
