Deliberate Living, a life coaching practice, is now offering Couples Coaching. This program will help couples grow closer and problem solve together in order to handle issues that accompany various marital stages. According to the National Center for Health Statistics, roughly 43% of marriages end in divorce. Jennifer Viemont, president of Deliberate Living explained, "People often think their marriage has to be in serious trouble in order for them to seek professional help. By then, it is often too late for the marriage to be saved. This program is about being proactive and formulating individualized strategies to prevent the marriage from getting to the point of being in danger of failing."

Couples Coaching is not therapy or counseling, but rather a goal directed and action orientated program designed to help couples establish a sense of connection. This connection will allow them to navigate their way through all the transitions in life and marriage. The goal of Couples Coaching is to help couples determine what they want their marriage to be and then create that vision in their lives, not to fix or heal past issues. The coaching model used is based on the assumption that marriage does take a lot of planning, skill and effort, but that effort does not need to be painful. It can be enjoyable and lead to a happier and healthier relationship.

The program uses individual sessions in which each partner works on his or her specific aspects of the goals as they pertain to the marriage. Joint sessions are also used to collaboratively identify and remove obstacles to finding marital fulfillment. Coaching is provided over the phone so it is convenient and has no geographical limitations. Couples Coaching is very solution focused and each appointment ends with action steps to be achieved in between sessions. This program allows couples to work through marital problems and transitions in an innovative and effective manner that produces positive results.
