Local Businesses Make Wishes Come True

Southern Trust Mortgage hosts events to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

(PRWEB) September 21, 2005 -- What do mini-golf and the mortgage industry have in common? The ability to enrich the lives of children with life threatening medical conditions by partnering with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. And that is exactly what Southern Trust Mortgage and Lynnhaven Golf Center did on September 18th.

Headquartered in Norfolk, VA, Southern Trust Mortgage is the largest independently owned mortgage company in the Mid-Atlantic Region with more than two dozen branches from Maryland to Florida. Their partnership with Make-A-Wish began last year by raising $4,500 to ensure the wish of 6 year old girl would be fulfilled.

This year, the company decided to create corporate sponsored events that they would charge" employees to attend. All proceeds are going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The most recent event was held at Lynnhaven Golf Center where employees and their families spent the day playing unlimited mini-golf and enjoying a BBQ. In attendance was Kenneth, Southern Trusts sponsored child for this year. While his wish to go to Hawaii has already been fulfilled, Southern Trust Mortgage is continuing to raise money for children in similar situations.

The staff at Lynnhaven Golf Center was wonderful and we can definitely call this event a Wish Granting success," said event coordinator, Lena Pascale.
