911CellPhoneBank.com is New Website Where People Can Donate Phones and Raise Money for 911 Groups

Under the partnership, funds will be raised and free emergency 911 cell phones will be provided for charitable agencies.

OCALA, FL (PRWEB) September 22, 2005 -- RMS Communications Group Inc., one of the nations leading recyclers and re-marketers of used cell phones, announced today it has established a new web site through which charitable organizations can receive 911 emergency cell phones as well as cash donations.

The new Website, www.911CellPhoneBank.com, will provide a way for people to donate their cell phones to law enforcement and related agencies that have a need for 911 emergency phones. Donated phones that have cash value may be converted to cash and the proceeds can be donated to the agencies.

RMS and one of its existing web sites, CellForCash.com, have been providing emergency cell phones as well as cash to various agencies for more than a year. In that time, more than $250,000 in cash has been donated to law enforcement agencies and other related organizations that may have urgent or unexpected financial needs for which funds are unavailable.

With the establishment of www.911CellPhoneBank.com, citizens may donate their old cell phones and direct that phones and proceeds be directed to law enforcement agencies, government emergency management agencies, or to private charitable agencies that are recommended by law enforcement.

To qualify, the private charitable agencies must provide both proof of non-profit status as well as a written referral from local law enforcement.

We started providing 911 phones and emergency funding to law enforcement agencies more than a year ago, and the response from those agencies was so positive that we wanted to provide a way that our customers could get more directly involved in the effort," said James Mosieur, chief executive officer of RMS Communications Inc.

All shipping, handling, inventory management and testing costs are paid by 911CellPhoneBank.com.

RMS operates a number of web sites. Besides www.911CellPhoneBank.com and wwwCellForCash.com, it operates www.WirelessFundraiser.com, which provides cash to non-profit organizations that collect and send in old cell phones; and www.RecycleForUS.com, an environmental initiative that helps companies, government agencies and other groups and individuals collect and recycle old cell phones.
