Crow's Eye Map Solutions Chosen Based on Unique 3-D Artistic Maps and Guaranteed Advertising Revenues

Crow's Eye, the first developer of artistic 3-D mapping software solutions that combine local search and advertising for tourist destinations, today announced that the Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has entered into an agreement with Crow's Eye to develop interactive on-line and printed 3-D artistic maps for tourists to explore Monterey County.

The agreement will allow the Monterey County CVB to promote their destination by providing visitors free advertising-based 3-D artistic Internet map guides on the CVB web site, visitor-generated map itineraries at printing kiosks in visitor centers and at member hotels, and printed Walkabout Maps™.

“We selected Crow's Eye for their whimsical graphically-oriented maps which depict all facets of Monterey County – from an overall view, to separate detailed maps of our more popular visitor-serving areas such as Cannery Row, Downtown Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur and the Salinas Valley wine corridor,” said John McMahon, President of Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau. “They bring 7 years of experience providing advertising-based 3-D artistic maps for tourist destinations and also a business model which provides our non-profit organization significant, guaranteed revenues.”

Crow's Eye will be rolling out a series of interactive Internet maps for the Monterey County CVB's website, offering computer printouts of user's personal itineraries of all the major tourist destinations in Monterey County. The visitor-generated Crow's Eye Monterey Walkabout Map™ provides an artistic 3-D view of chosen destinations in Monterey County, complete with the visitor's highlighted places of interest, including restaurant selections, activities, entertainment and events, things to explore, and driving directions to all visitor selections. The Crow's Eye Monterey Walkabout Map™ will have up to 14 individual 3-D artistic maps of tourist destinations throughout Monterey County, one of the most prestigious tourist destinations in the United States.

“We evaluated the needs of non-profit visitor bureaus before developing a business model that partners with the local CVBs to provide them revenues, rather than focusing on making money from them like our competition,” said Bob Vander Woude, President and CEO of Crow's Eye. “With our business model everyone wins. The tourists get a superior map product, the CVB gets revenues to develop additional programs to promote their destination, and member advertisers get to promote their businesses on unique on-line and printed maps that the CVB endorses and makes available to visitors,” said Vander Woude.
