Dallas, TX (PRWEB) September 20, 2005
Today, Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) announced new service to begin Oct. 2, 2005. In an effort to manage the aftereffects of Hurricane Katrina, Southwest has reworked its flight schedule and is now offering new flights in many of its destinations. While the new flights were previously planned, the airline is putting the service out for sale earlier than originally planned due to the reduced flight schedule in New Orleans.
"Our flight schedule has undergone a restructuring as a result of our flight reduction in New Orleans," said Gary Kelly, Southwest's Chief Executive Officer. "Available aircraft time allowed us to meet Customer demand in other cities sooner than anticipated."
Customers can take advantage of this new service today for travel Oct. 2, 2005, through Dec. 1, 2005. Southwest continues to restructure its flight schedule, so the Dec. 1, 2005, booking window will continue to be extended as new schedules roll out. Customers who want to book travel beyond Dec. 1, 2005, should continue to check http://www.southwest.com for the latest travel dates.
