Over 6,000 pair of Aetrex Footwear were donated to the Veterans Administration in Hammond, LA to aid displaced veterans and their families. In addition, 500 pair have been donated to United Methodist Church in Jackson, MS and 250 pair were given to Southern Prosthetic Supply Co. in Alpharetta, GA in support of their philanthropic effort.

We at Aetrex have been looking for a way to contribute to the victims of the Katrina disaster," says Richard Schwartz, Aetrex Chairman. We learned about a number of excellent charities that are trying to help. We have chosen the Voluntary Service office of the Veteran's Administration since they have the ability to deliver footwear and other products onsite, beginning next week."

Aetrex has donated first quality footwear that includes styles from their athletic and therapeutic lines. These shoes typically retail between $100 and $150 per pair. All shoes are made from the finest materials available and offer comfort, stability and protection for those susceptible to foot problems. The footwear features double depth, removable comfort orthotics, fine leather uppers, polyurethane outsoles and more.

Schwartz continues, We have many friends and customers in the region and have been touched by the stories weve heard regarding the extent of the suffering and the heroes working around the clock in the region trying to help. We encourage other companies in the industry to donate whatever they can to this cause as soon as possible."

The 59-year old company is comprised of three divisions -- Aetrex Performance Products, Aetrex Technology & Education, and Apex Therapeutic Footcare.
