Book Summit 2005

Is the book publishing industry broken?

Valley Forge, PA (PRWEB) September 22, 2005 -- Leaders of the publishing industry are coming together on September 29th, in Valley Forge, PA to discuss the challenges publishing faces today. With the advent of print-on-demand, a shrinking review window, and increased off-shoring publishing, both traditional and alternative, seems to be broken.

A seismic shift is going on in the publishing business, digital printing is shifting the paradigm for all publishers and the advent of the Internet is disrupting traditional distribution channels. The role of publishers and authors is changing on almost a daily basis. To discuss this upheaval and how our industry can most effectively deal with it and prosper experts, industry leaders, and publishers will be attending the 2005 Book Summit: Industry Leaders Discussing the Future of Publishing in a Flat World on September 29 in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. CEOs from POD publishing houses, digital printers, small publishers, reviewers, and associations are being asked to share their views on where the industry is headed. The Summit is by invitation only.
