SportsInsights.com announces a new weekly feature ÂSports Marketwatch that uses exclusive Sports Investing analysis to preview select NFL games. ÂSports Marketwatch is the newest addition to the family of Sports Investing tools unveiled by SportsInsights.com this week. SportsInsights.comÂs Sports Investing analysis applies successful stock market theories to the sports betting marketplace to provide a more accurate view of the odds.
Sports Marketwatch is put together by Daniel Fabrizio, founder of SportsInsights.com. ÂI talk directly to the line managers at Pinnacle and Oasis sportsbooks about which games the public is chasing and the sharps are pounding. I take that information and apply SportsInsights.com unique Wall Street-like analysis to the numbers. The results are betting statistics that have proven to be successful. SportsInsights.comÂs record is 8-2 for the first two weeks of the NFL season.Â
The first edition of ÂSports Marketwatch is available below or with charts by going to SportsInsights.com.
NFL Week 3
By Daniel Fabrizio, SportsInsights.com
Week 2 Recap
The hits just keep coming for leading sportsbooks as Joe Square, person who only bets favorites, took another beating in NFL Week 2. All books reporting another stellar NFL Sunday. Games in which over 70% of the action came in on one side, Joe PublicÂs record was a dismal 1-5 in games. Check out SportsInsights.com for more on last weekÂs games and our results.
Week 3 Sports Marketwatch
We chug along and move on to NFL Week 3. No matter how much we preach the value in betting underdogs and not basing your picks solely on last weekÂs performance people keep on doing it. Need proof? Take a look at how last weekendÂs BIG blow out winners are faring this week.
-Oakland vs Philadelphia-
Circle this game! Is Oakland really that bad? Will they make every throw to Randy Moss in crunch time? All questions to be answered versus Philly. But watch it - this is a classic trap game. Oakland isnÂt that bad, and Philly just beat the stuffing out of a team that might not win 2 games this year. The line opened at -8 and Joe Square canÂt get enough with 79% of bets placed so far have been on Philly. There must be an early edition floating around with MondayÂs NFL scores. Man, would I love to get my hands on next MondayÂs paper on Thursday afternoon! BUT amazingly enough the line has moved from -8 to -7.5??? Is there any clearer indicating that Sharp money has coming on Philly. Still lots of +8 out there.
The line manager at OasisCasino.com has this to say about the game.
ÂAs expected following PhillyÂs impressive blowout win against San Francisco and the mediaÂs hyping of McNabbÂs 5 TDs, the public is pounding Philly. The real surprise is all early Sharp action on Oakland forcing us to move off 8 to 7.5. Pinnacle and WWTS had already moved off 8 to 7.5.Â
-Cincinnati vs Chicago-
Cincinnati finally looks like theyÂve turned the corner. Now letÂs see how they do against a team that plays D. Classical trap game, every red flag in the SportsInsights.com database is blinking like its Xmas.
Oasis declared that this is shaping up to be one their biggest games of the weekend. ÂMy grandmother just called and bet on Cincinnati. This is scary, joked line manager at OasisCasino.com Steve Stone. The public thinks this is a weak line -- come on Cincinnati -3? ItÂs too easy. When you hear yourself saying things like, Âthey should be at least a 6 point favorite. Take the other side.
As can be expected, lots of early Cincinnati action on this game, 82%. I donÂt think the books will move off 3, but IÂd wait until Sunday to see if I can get a +3.5.
-Carolina vs Miami-
Have I mentioned how much I love betting home dogs in the NFL? Miami is another strong value play. All books reporting heavy one sided square action on Carolina 79%. Wait until Sunday and youÂll see lots of +3.5 on the board.
-Tennessee vs St Louis-
Pinnacle is reporting they opened this game at -5.5 -113, and were immediately swarmed by the sharps, who quickly bet them down to -6 -109. Then, the whales moved in. These are individual players that when they take a position, they move the market. I was told that several of these larger bettors played the favorite at -109, forcing Pinnacle to move defensively to -6.5.
Oasis experienced similar Sharp action and moved accordingly to -6.5. IÂve even seen a couple of -7 on the boards.
