Four Dynamic Hoteliers Serve as Distinguished Inaugural Members

Boutique, a Preferred Hotel Group Partner, is honored to announce the formation of an Official Advisory Committee.

The four inaugural members, Brendan Carlin, General Manager of The Mosaic in Beverly Hills, Micarl Hill, General Manager of Clayton-on-the-Park in St. Louis, Ali Khoja, General Manager of the SoHo Metropolitan in Toronto, and Jeff Lehman, General Manager of The National in Miami, bring extensive hospitality experience to the Boutique organization. All four properties are members of Preferred Hotels & Resorts.

Lindsey Ueberroth, Managing Director of Boutique, says, “As a new brand within Preferred Hotel Group, we felt there was a tremendous opportunity for us to tap into our hoteliers' great wealth of knowledge. We feel these four gentlemen bring something truly special to Boutique, especially in the areas of marketing strategy and member development.”

The current members bring invaluable skills and acclaimed experience to the committee, as well as a great deal of enthusiasm for the Boutique brand. Mr. Carlin quickly worked his way up from a pool and beach attendant at the Westin Maui to Front Office Manager at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua Maui before moving on to open numerous Ritz Carlton properties, including Half Moon Bay, Aspen, and Jamaica. He has been General Manager at The Mosaic, one of LA's most acclaimed boutique properties, for the past two years.

Mr. Hill, a 28-year veteran of the hospitality industry, has served as General Manager at several of the West Coast's most acclaimed hotels including The Clift and The Huntington, both in San Francisco, and The Sorrento in Seattle. Prior to joining Clayton-on-the-Park, he was VP, Operations for Woodside Hotels & Resorts in Redwood City, CA, where he was responsible for the company's six properties with combined total revenues of $121 million.

Similar to Mr. Carlin's start, Mr. Khoja's first position as a valet at the Westin Ottawa got him on the hospitality fast track. Since landing the coveted position of General Manager within the Westmont Hospitality Group, he has managed several distinguished properties including the Radisson Ottawa by Parliament Hill and ARC THE.HOTEL. Since opening in April 2003, the SoHo Metropolitan, one of Canada's premier design hotels, the property has won numerous industry awards and best-of ratings under Mr. Khoja's direction.

Spanning 26 years, Mr. Lehman's career in the hospitality industry has taken him all over the world with positions in Hawaii, Tahiti, Japan, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. In addition to his duties as General Manager at one of Miami's premier boutique hotels, he serves as Vice Chair of the Miami Beach Visitors and Convention Bureau.

Though all four gentlemen have a full load of responsibilities, Mr. Khoja notes that for him, the decision to join the Boutique Advisory Committee was easy, “I'm excited to be involved with such a unique offering of hotels that successfully bring fun and modern luxury together.”
