Texas Bus Tragedy

CHICAGO, IL (PRWEB) September 24, 2005 -- The charter bus involved in the tragic events in Dallas this morning was operated by a Texas based company. While The BusBank is not the operator, they arranged the charter bus services to evacuate senior citizens from the threat of Hurricane Rita. These residents are among the thousands of evacuees The BusBank has aided during these incredible natural catastrophes.

"The BusBank is devastated by this tragedy. Our prayers go out to the families and friends of those involved in this terrible incident. In our experience, this is a good operator. Something went terribly wrong. We are engaged and ready to lend our assistance in any way we can to help determine the cause. By working with investigators, we hope to provide the public, and ourselves, with some answers." Bill Maulsby, Founder and CEO, The BusBank.

The BusBank arranges thousands of charter bus movements each year. They were among the First Responders in New Orleans, the Gulf Coast and Texas during the evacuation and relief effort for Hurricane Katrina. Throughout September, they have sent hundreds of buses to the affected areas and BusBank employees have been on site in San Antonio to support FEMA and the Red Cross by providing transportation for evacuees in the shelters there. The BusBank is now engaged in Texas and Louisiana in the evacuation related to Hurricane Rita.

"We charter buses every day. In times of crisis we have been very proud of our actions, which have helped people in need ...from 9/11 to Katrina to this impending hurricane. This is obviously a sad day for our company." Bill Maulsby, Founder and CEO, The BusBank.

As a leading group and event transportation specialist, The BusBank arranges charter bus services throughout North America. By working with independent operators rather than owning buses, The BusBank maintains the flexibility to create customized group transportation solutions and respond to challenging situations. Their experience allows them to access and evaluate safety and service data, which while publicly available, is not always scrutinized by consumers arranging for charters on their own. Using their resources, The BusBank will continue in their efforts to aid in the evacuation during this incredible time of need.
