The Talking Grammar Check, Talking Word Processor Version 8, does more than look for errors; when it finds an error, it will read the grammatical rule and provide you with suggestions. Most people can catch their errors when they hear them.

Premier Assistive Technology, the world’s fastest growing assistive technology company, is proud to announce the release of Version 8 of the Talking Word Processor, now with Talking Grammar Check.

Take the Talking Grammar Check challenge. Take any document, open it in Microsoft Word, and check the grammar and spelling. When you are done, run the same document through the Talking Grammar Check in the Talking Word Processor and see what Microsoft missed.

The Talking Grammar Check does more than look for errors; when it finds an error, it will read the grammatical rule to you and provide you with suggestions. Most people can catch their errors when they hear them. The Talking Grammar Check will also read the suggestion to you when you click on it. So when you hear the correct suggestion, all you need to do is select the Change button.

“It has never been easier to use your ears to proofread!” says Dr. Steve Timmer.

Create and edit Microsoft Word documents without having to purchase Microsoft Word. The Talking Word Processor has many of the same features that you will find in MS Word, but without the expensive price.

Proofread and learn by listening. The Talking Word Processor will read virtually any document on your computer; you can even cut and paste from the Internet. You will be surprised to see how many more errors you catch with your ears.

Built-in 250,000 word dictionary. Just double-click a word and the definition of that word will open and it can read the definition to you. Try to do that in Word Perfect or MS Office. The dictionary could not be handier.

Talking Spell Check. The built-in spell check is like most other spell checkers, except that this one will read the words to you. Most people will know the right word when they hear it.

Some of the new features of the Talking Word Processor:

  • Graded Word Prediction. The word prediction can be set for a specific grade level so users can optimize the words it is predicting for them.
  • Sentence Repeat. The sentence repeat will read the entire sentence that the user just completed.
  • Highlighting: The Talking Word Processor has a built-in highlighter with 4 different colors. Users can use the Highlight Extract feature to extract only the highlighted text and place it into a new document that can be read and/or saved.
  • Support Bar. The Talking Word Processor can be used as a regular word processor, proofreading tool, or writing support tool. Turn off the support bar for a standard word processor or turn it on for instant access to many of the powerful support tools.

Educators: ask about our Test Taking edition where you can enable or disable the spell check, grammar check, dictionary, and reading options.
