Finding healthy, environmentally-friendly baby products can be a difficult task for concerned parents.
ÂYour everyday baby stores only seem to carry a few brand names, but how do you know the products are safe for your baby? says Sheri Murray, a loyal Ethicbaby customer. Ethicbaby.com is a Canada-based, online store meeting the growing demand for healthy, natural baby products.
Since launching in July, Ethicbaby owners, Kate and Jeff Dorion, have been growing in all directions  the recent addition of an American e-store, and proud parents of a new baby girl named Trinity.
While the growth of our online baby store was planned, the timeline for implementing an American e-store was brought forward due to the high demand for natural baby products from our southern neighbors, according to Jeff, proud father and Ethicbaby co-owner.
The natural baby marketplace has grown significantly as suggested by Google and Overture keyword statistics, and the stable increase of LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) parents reaching out for sustainable products online was a key consideration in our business plan.
Most importantly, while the rationale to address the US market was a customer service decision, the trigger for growth was absolute market size. As an online retailer in Canada, you have to consider the American marketplace, which is estimated at 10 times that of the Canadian online market. ÂAlthough a Canadian-based e-retailer, over 80% of our sales have come from parents in the Unites States who desire natural baby products and can't find them locally  in particular baby clothesÂ, states new mom and co-owner, Kate Dorion.
Ethicbaby.com offers a fairly-traded product line from around the world including, certified organic baby clothing and bedding (India), stuffed baby toys (Egypt), safe, wooden toys made with non-toxic paints (Germany), natural baby skin care (Australia), parenting books (Canada), baby gifts and engaging music for both parents and babies (US).
