Powerful Software Expands Exhaust Analyzer Capabilities

Custom application adds the power of your PC to XaustAlyzer.com's exhaust analyzers.

Orange County, CA (PRWEB) September 27, 2005 -- XaustAlyzer.com's line of exhaust gas analyzers are powerful, portable, and versatile. Modern personal computers are also powerful, portable, and versatile. Combining the two enhances many gas analysis applications.

Connected by RS-232 or USB, XaustAlyzer.com's exhaust analysis software provides complete control over analyzer functions. The software works with any of their exhaust gas analyzers and has three real time data display modes: Numeric, Gauge, and Strip Chart. Data logging and report generation round out the program's feature set.

Numeric displays are just what you'd expect, the gas concentrations are displayed in the appropriate units. The numbers automatically resize when the application window is resized, allowing them to be seen from several feet away. This mode is ideal for 'dialing in' emissions for standards compliance or to maximize safety for lift truck or other indoor vehicle applications.

Gauge mode indicates gas concentrations on a set of pointer-dial displays reminiscent of old auto dashboards. This representation lends itself to interactive tuning applications because it's easy to see relative changes in the gas mixture as adjustments are made.

Strip Chart displays are useful for examining gas relationships over time. The concentrations are plotted on a scrolling display that shows several seconds of data at once. An interesting feature normalizes the data before plotting, which compensates for different measurement units and ranges among the various gasses. X and Y scaling can be adjusted with the mouse. Zoom and Cursor functions let you examine points of interest in fine detail.

Data logging stores gas concentrations in a file at intervals specified by the user. This feature can be used to determine an engine's warm-up characteristics, which is important for indoor vehicle use. The stored data can be imported into other programs, such as Microsoft Excel, for further analysis.

Report generation provides an easy way for repair shops to present professional-looking results of exhaust analysis tests. The reports are generated from a template that can be customized by the user. Customer-specific information is merged with the template along with gas concentrations, and the results are saved to disk. The reports are compatible with Microsoft Word and Wordpad.
