Happy Birthday, baby!

Hip and Little Childrens Boutique turns one.

CAMPBELL, CA (PRWEB) September 28, 2005 -- Hip and Little Boutique credits its first year of successful sales to offering baby items that are not found elsewhere.

Babys first year is full of exciting milestones. Turning one marks a transition from calm babyhood to mile-a-minute toddlerhood. Upon its first birthday, Hip and Little Childrens Boutique looks forward to what lies ahead and looks back on how far it has grown.

Hip and Littles success this far has been largely due to its offering of unique baby gifts that are not available at typical chain stores. Parents treasure gifts that are personal and memorable," said Kari Edmonds, owner. Of course they need the basics, too, but part of the fun of having a new baby is decorating the nursery and shopping for those first tiny outfits." Some examples of the unusual baby items the boutiques carry include sushi bodysuits and crocheted cowboy booties. Fun maternity tshirts read: I am NOT Buddha. Please do not rub." Top selling hotsling baby slings come in a variety of designer patterns. Hip and Little connects with shoppers who dont want their babies to look the same as everyone else at the playgroup.

We carefully choose products from small companies and independent designers, said Edmonds. We have been successful this past year because we dont carry the same items that everyone else does."

And because the items are different, customers tend to talk about them. Not only that, many items like clothing and baby slings are highly visible, so other people tend to ask about them. Weve had great luck with customer referrals. I believe this is because the products themselves give people something to talk about." Because new parents often meet in neighborhood groups, buzz spreads quickly.

In order to ensure that their customers can find something truly unique, Hip and Little also offers their own line of items including wooden baby hangers, t-shirts, and nightlights. Many of their items are able to be personalized, which shoppers appreciate. Being a mom herself, and connecting with fellow moms, allows Edmonds to understand what her customers needs are.

When you belong to a few parenting groups, you find yourself going to baby showers and birthday parties all the time. I love knowing that the gifts I give are special for each particular child. I realized that my customers have the same need to find something unique," says Edmonds. As Hip and Little toddles into their second year, the boutique looks forward to learning to run.
