PSYCHOLOGICAL HORROR FEATURE "IN MEMORIUM" TO PREMIERE at 13TH ANNUAL HAMPTONS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Independent horror film "In Memorium" will make its World Premiere at the 13th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival.

Los Angeles, CA, (PRWEB) September 27, 2005 -- Rattling a test audience early in post-production, independent horror film “In Memorium” will make its World Premiere at the 13th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival. The 73-minute-thriller will screen Thursday, October 20th, at 9:30 pm, and Friday, October 21st at 11pm at the UA theatre in East Hampton.

Shot over 18 days with a skeleton crew, “In Memorium” follows a terminally ill filmmaker who prepares to document his final months using motion-triggered security cameras. A few days later, the cameras record inexplicable ‘disturbances’ in the newly sublet house. Almost immediately, he begins to deteriorate.

The supernatural thriller was directed by Amanda Gusack (“The Anniversary”) and produced by Lydia Cedrone and Meredith Freeman. The film stars Erik McDowell (“Cold Case”), Johanna Watts (“CSI: Miami”), Levi Powell (“Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World”), and Mary Portser (“Human Nature”).

Gusack wrote “In Memorium” after several screenplays garnered industry interest, but no sale. The supernatural thriller was crafted as a documentary, veiled through the eyes of mounted cameras. Gusack used the stark, locked-down shots to limit the audience’s visual perspective and enhance its sense of sound.

Cedrone’s credits include Producer for the 30-minute romantic comedy, “The Porcelain Perspective,” and a two-year tenure with filmmaker Michael Mann (“Ali”). Freeman is Co-Producer of “The Touchstone,” an adaptation of the Edith Wharton novel, produced by Rita Wilson. The two are currently developing a film adaptation of Susan Isaacs’ novel, “Almost Paradise.”
