New Hope Church and God Move In -- Lee Greenwood Moves On

New Hope Church (Sevierville, TN) buys vacant Smoky Mountain Lee Greenwood Theater; begins new ministries and services for local citizens, expands Disaster Relief to Hurricane Katrina and Rita victims.

Sevierville, TN (PRTraffic/PRWEB ) September 27, 2005 -- Church folks, unwed moms, unloved kids, and even people struggling with severe addictions now have a new 'home' in Sevierville. New Hope Church has completed its purchase of the empty Lee Greenwood Theater and assorted other surrounding assets. After months of negotiations, the deal is done and the private dignitaries' ribbon cutting is Thursday, September 29th, 2005, at 6:00 pm eastern.

"This is not about buildings. It's not about property. It's about people," according to New Hope Church Senior Pastor Tom Sterbens. "That's where our hearts are -- reaching the 'regular' people -- but also reaching out to the people who have challenges in their lives and need a place of love, acceptance, and support. New Hope Church is a church that fulfills its name, giving people new hope in the face of challenging life situations."

Pastor Sterbens and the New Hope Church congregation wanted a larger facility to provide important social services for people who need really them. Over time, they hope to add an unwed mothers' facility, a drug rehabilitation facility, and do more for disadvantaged citizens of Sevier County and the surrounding areas. Everyone is welcome at New Hope Church.

The new campus consists of the theater, restaurant, and 25 acres. The theater will become the New Hope Church Sanctuary and offices. The restaurant will be a conference center, and the master plan includes constructing new buildings on the property to fulfill other purposes.

New Hope Church intends to make a real, tangible difference in the lives of people from every walk of life who want and need redemption, reconciliation, and grace. "People need real love, immediate help, and a safe place of genuine acceptance. That's exactly what we're going to give them," Sterbens said. The first service was Sunday, September 25th at 10:30 am.

You are invited to the ribbon cutting 9/29/05 at 6:00 pm eastern to enjoy refreshments, interviews, and a tour of the New Hope Church facilities. Please RSVP and attend.
