Melbourne, Australia (PRWEB) September 28, 2005 -- OzWEbFX release a new web site, The Australian Million Dollar Homepage. The site is a copycat of The Million Dollar Homepage by a 21-year-old British entrepreneur who is hoping to pay his way through university - and become a millionaire in the process - by selling 1 million pixels of ad space for $1 each on his website's homepage.
Despite the original site being on line for only a short time it has made a significant amount of money and has sparked a wave of copycat sites across the world. The creator, Alex Tew, from Wiltshire, England, does say on his site when asked if he was worried about copy-cats/rip-offs that, "Not at all. It is bound to happen (this is the Internet after all)," "They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" and "I say good luck to the imitators!"
Following the spirit of his words Richard Ellender, a web designer from Melbourne, Australia & owner of www.ozwebfx.com, has created his own site, www.milliondollarhomepage.com.au which works in exactly the same manner. The only difference perhaps, is that the Australian site is priced in Australian Dollars, making it slightly cheaper to advertise.
Richard, 40, commented, "The Australian Million Dollar Homepage will be a great advertising platform for any Australian based business to reach a fresh audience.
The objective of the site is to help advertisers reach millions of potential customers. By riding the waves of a craze currently sweeping the web & by using advanced Search Engine Optimisation techniques this site will soon have a very high page ranking.
Of course the prime aim is to sell all the pixels and therefore rake in a Million Bucks but I am experimenting with search engine optimization techniques & researching internet trends.
I'm not a student although I plan to take the Google Advertising Professional Exam soon.
