The Jewel of Santa Monica, CA
In light on national tragedies, The Galley does its part in taking care of local regulars by offering special prices on weekend brunch.
(PRWEB) September 30, 2005 -- The Galley at 2442 Main St. in Santa Monica strives to foster everything a neighborhood bar embodies; great food, friendly service and loyal regulars. In a time of national tragedies the community yearns for the comfort of a familiar environment. Proprietor Ron Schur, or Captain Ron as everyone knows him, provides just that.
The Captain has made it a priority to not only ward off the encroaching modernity, but to create an environment where "everyone knows your name." In that spirit, The Galley recently sponsored an event (by invitation only, via email), in which prices on regular brunch items were rolled back to 1934 prices (the year The Galley opened). Guests enjoyed kosher 1/4lb hot dogs for five cents, homemade pasta marinara for ten cents and 1/2lb hamburgers for fifteen cents. While gas prices are rapidly increasing and interest rates rising, The Galley is doing its part to honor loyal patrons. The Captain will continue to promote weekly weekend brunch specials. October's month's brunch specials include steak & eggs with roasted potatoes, huevos rancheros with avocado pico de gallo or crab cake eggs benedict with spicy tomato hollandaise for only five dollars each.
Brunch is Saturday & Sunday, from 11:00am-3:00pm. Guests can participate by emailing their reservations to mermaid@thegalleyrestaurant.net.
