Kids Off The Block Needs Your Support. Help give at-risk youth a better life.

Kids Off The Block is now in it's second year, we are now beginning to see the magnitude of what needs to be done to help youth divert from gangs, drugs, truancy, violence, and the juvenile justice system. We are putting out a call for "help" to continue our programs so that we may sway more youth from the throngs of street life. Crime is on the rise among children of all ages. Creed, color, religion, sex, age, none of this matters anymore. We are scrambling to bring life back to being a child, and the dreams that were once theirs.

(PRWEB) January 1, 2005 -- Kids Off The Block is an after-school program based out of the Roseland Community in Chicago, IL. Founded in July of 2003 by Diane Latiker. We are a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization. There are 35 youth enrolled, with a waiting list of 75. We have a community basketball league in summer which has 42 participants. K.O.B offers Tutoring/Mentoring, Music, Drama, Financial Literacy, and Sports, also, we promote Abstinence. We understand that there are lots of youth organizations out there, but more are needed. Without our programs the children whom we service would not have access to these resources. Our participants are low to moderate income, and working parents, some single parent homes. Kids Off The Block offers a safe haven for all youth that are mostly at home by themselves.

Please support us by donating the following:
1. A facility (to house all of the programs that we presently have and will create in order to continue to help more children in need).
2. Vans/vehicles (to carry the children to different activities, such as museums and out of town trips).
3. Office Supplies
4. School Supplies
5. Music/production equipment

Any in-kind donation is also welcome. Please contact us if you want to know more or would like to volunteer.
