Guest Appearances and Award Winning Films from Tunde Kelani, Kingsley Ogoro, Charles Novia and Simi Opeoluwa.

The AFI Silver with XXIV/VII Africa (pronounced as Twenty-four Seven) co-presents a celebration of some of the best and acclaimed films from the treasury of the African film industrys dynamic Nigerian Nollywood" Film Industry. It is the first of its kind showcase of film works from these directors, producers, artistes and cultures in a mainstream American theatre.

If the continuous laughter and cheering of our diverse New York audiences is any indication, this film has true international appeal", says Ms. Mahen Bonetti, New York African Film Festival of the internationally acclaimed Thunderbolt" film by Tunde Kelani, one of the films featured in this showcase.

XXIV/VII Africa and AFI Silver with the support of the international community and the filmmakers are proud to bring this showcase to the Washington, DC area. The films in this showcase are remarkable for their combination of artistic achievement and broad audience appeal in telling the new African stories still largely rooted and molded by its culture and modern evolution.

The African Film Showcase will feature a selection of film works from Kingsley Ogoro, Tunde Kelani, Charles Novia and Simi Opeoluwa at the AFI Silver Theater and Cultural Center from Saturday, February 5th-26th (Every Saturday ) at 5:00 pm.

Dates and times are accessible online at AFI.com/Silver. Tickets are $8.50 for the general audience, $7.50 for seniors, students and AFI members.
