Super Fashionistas Can Now Buy British Designer Final Year Collections Online

Fashionfinders.co.uk, helping online fashionista's search for today's one-off fashion collections created by up and coming British design talent. A new specialist online boutique launched.

(PRWEB) January 10, 2005 -- Fashionfinders.co.uk is a new specialist online boutique featuring today's one-off fashion collections created by up and coming British design talent.

Buyers interested in owning a one-off fashion piece can now sign up to fashionfinders.co.uk to view the online boutique of designers who have presented their collections at Londons Graduate Fashion Week.

Many of the collections from Graduate Fashion Week are beautiful pieces that represent the creativity coming out of British design schools," says Gail Calliste, Creative Director and co-founder and continues, British trained designers have long been acknowledged as being innovative, daring and creative and this is represented by the number of British trained fashion designers employed by some of the top fashion houses in the industry. What fashionfinders offers is a way to view these collections which would normally be difficult to access," continues Gail.

Graduate Fashion Week is where the fashion industry seeks out new emerging talent such as Rebecca Perry from the Surrey Institute of Art and Design who has been tipped by the British press as a designer to watch out for in the future and whose collection is exclusively available to buy at fashionfinders.co.uk. Rebecca's collection is based on the fantasy novel, Gormenghast and the collection shows innovative use of tailoring. Other designers include Stephen Jewkes from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and Natasha Skowron whose couture level collection is evocative of the elegance of the 1940's.

We were very impressed by the collections on view at Graduate Fashion Week 2004 and recognise that although creativity and innovation are an important part of the creation process, wearability is just as crucial," says Diane Calliste, Strategic Director and co-founder.

It is the wearability factor of the collections showcased on the site combined with the cachet of each piece being a true original which is a unique selling point. Once a piece is gone, it's gone. The buyer becomes the owner of a true and original wearable piece of fashion that becomes unique to only the buyers wardrobe," Diane continues.

The fashion designers' online profiles, portfolios, show footage, press and show pictures (all based on their collections) are also available to view.

With the fashion industry being so competitive, fashionfinders.co.uk in addition to the online boutique, serves as an online promotion platform for designers. This enables them to showcase their collections and build a brand profile online. In affect, we provide the online platform for designers to promote themselves as part of an overall promotion strategy," says Diane.

We aim to become the premier source for new and emerging British fashion talent in an online environment. With the boutique experience complemented with additional visual representation provided by each designer, the opportunity to really find out about the ideas behind the collections is an added benefit," says Gail Calliste.

Fully launched in November 2004, fashionfinders.co.uk sources one-off final year fashion collections as well as stocking new up and coming independent labels, enabling them to sell in their own online boutique. Independent labels in particular are able to firstly operate on a small scale giving their collections exclusivity. This allows the designer to slowly build up their brand without exceeding their resources.

Fashionfinders also provides a range of services to the designer community as well as a private buyer service.

Individual designer boutiques can be viewed on fashionfinders.co.uk. Please visit http://www.fashionfinders.co.uk for more information.
