Equicom Systems Management, an offshore application outsourcing company based in Manila with a presence in the US, has formally been appraised at CMMI® level 3.

Cary, NC (PRWEB) January 21, 2005 -- Equicom Systems Management, Inc. (www.equicomsystems.com) has recently achieved the Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®) Level 3 rating.

Equicom Systems was appraised at SEI-CMMI® Level 3 after a thorough evaluation involving Software Development, Conversion, Maintenance and Support activities. The scope of the appraisal included CMMI® for Software Engineering (version 1.1) maturity levels 2 and 3 process areas. The appraisal was based on the SCAMPI-A (version 1.1) methodology and was led by an SEI certified Lead Appraiser along with 6 members from Equicom Systems.

Mr. Phil Bartos, EVP and General Manager of Equicom Systems, and Strategic Process Improvement Sponsor said, This achievement is very exciting. The executive lead from the appraisal team mentioned he had never seen any company improve so significantly in such a brief span of time. This milestone has instilled more rigor, discipline and quality into our application management practice."

Mr. Tony Conway, President of Equicom Systems, commented The investment our shareholders have made in this appraisal process shows their commitment to Equicom Systems and their continued support will help us to build on this accomplishment to achieve new heights for Equicom Systems."

The Software Engineering Institute (SEI), a federally funded research and development center sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense and operated by Carnegie Mellon University, created the CMMI® models. The SEI's core purpose is to help others make measured improvements in their software engineering capabilities. The CMMI® rating is awarded after exhaustive independent evaluation of an organizations capabilities, processes and products. The appraisal results are used to help buyers evaluate and determine reliable and low-risk suppliers.
