HR.com Publishes an Article Entitled, "Leadership Competencies: The Changing Landscape"

Specifically, what leadership competencies will be required over the next ten years?

Aurora, Ontario (HRmarketer/PRWEB ) January 21, 2005 -- HR.comT, the largest research and Web destination for Senior HR Professionals, recently published an article on its site that was written by Grant Armstrong, of the Niagara Credit Union, located in St. Catharines, Ontario.

Armstrong discusses comparisons between managers and great leaders and how one is not the same as the other. Furthermore, he believes that leaders are made, not born, and says, "We have in fact tended to think the competencies demonstrated by people recognized as good leaders are the competencies that are intrinsic in good leadership. However, leadership is much more complex than merely transplanting a number of key attributes on some high potential candidate at some leadership course and expecting them to become the next great leader."

He references the recent Conference Board of Canada research report on Developing Business Leaders for 2010. The focus of the article highlights four basic roles for leaders in the future: Master Strategist, Change Manager, Relationship Builder and Talent Developer.
