HI-POD Offers Free Video Footage of International Soccer Match Series in LA (Jan 15-25, 2005)

HI-POD offers to FIFA organizations free DVD footage of the friendly soccer tournament that took place in Los Angeles last week . The national futbol teams of Columbia, Korea, Guatemala, Paraguay, and Sweden competed in this friendly tournament as a warm up for the upcoming World Cup qualifying matches.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 28, 2005 -- In preparation for the upcoming World Cup qualifying matches, a friendly soccer tournament took place in Los Angeles, California. The teams included Korea, Columbia, Paraguay, Guatemala and Sweden.

The newest coaching tool, HI-POD, was there to record the games. Placed behind the goal the one-person-manned HI-POD simulated the common crane shot (for a fraction of the price) and was able to extend up to 15 feet above the game. The HI-POD provided the operator total touch control of pan, tilt, zoom, and camera monitoring functions. And at twenty pounds the HI-POD was easily moved from one location to the next- something a crane cannot achieve.

The HI-POD's bearing mounted foot offered fluid 360 degree panning , making it easy to horizontally follow the ball from one corner to another. The HI-POD's tilt mechanism controlled vertical movement, making it easy to follow the game up and down the field. And the HI-POD's zoom controller made it easy to zoom in for close ups or to zoom out to get great field establishing shots.

The HI-POD was versatile enough to be interchangeable with a video camera or a still camera. At the start of each game, the HI-POD operator used the Sony F717 Cybershot 5 megapixel camera to capture great still shots of the opening ceremonies and of players as they lined up to greet each other.

But as each game commenced the HI-POD's video skills began to shine. Telescoping up to 15 feet, moving around the entire field, panning, tilting, and zooming to follow the action.- all of it was easily accomplished with the HI-POD.

Most of the games took place at the Los Angeles Coliseum.
Jan 15 - HI-POD captured the 2-1 Columbian victory over Korea.
Jan 17- HI-POD lensed a 1-1 tie between Columbia and Guatemala.
Jan 19- HI-POD taped the 1-1 tie between Korea and Paraguay.
Jan 22 (Home Depot Center)- the HI-POD recorded anther tie. This time between Korea and Sweden.

Many of the goals scored were directly below the HI-POD creating great video footage. But many of the goals scored in the opposite goal, 100 meters away also were captured beautifully by the HI-POD.
