Adelaide Announces Beach Stone Earrings to Benefit Surfrider Foundation

Adelaide Samuels, designer of Adelaide, a collection of fine jewelry, today announced a new earring design using beach stones to benefit the Surfrider Foundation.

New York, NY (PRWEB) January 30, 2005 -- A simple, elegant design with an organic feel, the Surfrider earring features polished, natural beach stones hung from hand-fabricated sterling silver or 18k gold wires. 50% of the purchase price from every pair of surfrider earrings sold will go to benefit the Surfrider Foundation (http://www.surfrider.org), a non-profit environmental organization working to preserve our oceans, waves and beaches.

Adelaide Samuels started collecting beach stones this past summer while vacationing in East Hampton, NY. She loved the look and feel of the stones, but wasnt quite sure how to use them. At the end of the summer, during one of her last evenings before returning to the city, a friend mentioned the SurfRider Foundation and the work they do.

I was intrigued, as I have been coming to the Hamptons during the summer since I was young and the beaches here are very important to me," said Samuels. Once I returned to the city, I looked up the Surfrider website and was very impressed by the work they do. I decided to use the beach stones to make a simple pair of earrings that would benefit SurfRider."

Samuels researched how to drill the stones and developed an earwire specifically for this design that is based on the signature ‘swirl wire used in her other designs. The design was originally developed for Samuels Spring |Summer ‘05 collection, however she decided to make it a permanent part of her future collections to continue support for the organization.
