Timothy S. Crisp is a partner in the Madison office of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP. He represents lenders and borrowers in a wide range of credit transactions, restructurings and workouts, including single-lender and syndicated commercial cash-flow-based and asset-based loans, taxable and tax-exempt bond financings, asset securitization and other conduit financing transactions. Mr. Crisp also frequently represents lenders and borrowers in connection with workouts, insolvency, bankruptcy, creditors rights and regulatory issues. He frequently speaks to lenders, attorneys and other professionals regarding the Uniform Commercial Code and commercial loan transactions.
Gilbert L. Southwell III is currently vice president and senior municipal research analyst with Wells Capital Management Inc., working principally with the municipal fixed income investment teams. He previously was in-house counsel at Strong Capital Management, Inc. (Strong"), supporting the fixed income investment teams and, prior to that position, assistant general counsel of Firstar Bank, where he was involved in the documentation of municipal bond transactions as bank counsel. Mr. Southwells work in these areas involves the negotiation, structuring and review of municipal bond transactions involving both governmental issuers/obligors and private companies. He also has had extensive experience in the restructuring and workout of distressed municipal securities, especially private activity bonds involving manufacturing, health care and multi-family projects.
John M. Wirth is a shareholder in the Milwaukee office of Mallery & Zimmerman, S.C. Mr. Wirth has approximately 17 years of experience providing counsel in a variety of commercial and real estate finance transactions, and in bankruptcy Chapter 128 receivership and other debtor-creditor actions. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin and his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School, serving as articles editor for the Wisconsin Law Review. He studied international finance and business transactions at Regents College in London. Mr. Wirth served two terms as the chair of the Bankruptcy Section of the Milwaukee Bar Association (1998-2000) and formerly served as the program chair of the section. He currently is a member of the Business Law, Real Property and Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Creditors Rights Sections (serving as chair of the Legislation and Exemptions Subcommittee) of the State Bar of Wisconsin, and a member of the Bankruptcy and Creditor Rights Business Law, And Real Property Sections of the Milwaukee Bar Association. He also serves as a member of the common council of the city of Mequon. He received a Distinguished Service Award from the Milwaukee Bar Association in 2000.
