New York, NY (PRWEB) October 5, 2005 -- Juxta Digital (http://www.juxtadigital.com), a new-media consultancy specializing in non-profits, publishing, education, corporate communications, and entertainment, announced today the re-launch of the new website for the American Red Cross in Greater New York (http://www.nyredcross.org).
The American Red Cross in Greater New York (ARCGNY) approached RE:Creative Design and Juxta Digital to redesign and develop a more robust website that could meet the varying and variable needs of the nation's biggest Red Cross chapter. One of their key goals was to create a website that could maximum their efficiency in responding to disasters by helping to accept donations, stimulate volunteers, offer continually updated information and provide easy registration for events, courses, and training.
Little did they realize that they would be re-launching the new site in the midst one of the largest natural disasters in the history of the US. The new site went live approximately a week after Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast. Within days, the new online registration features in Juxta Digital's content management system, Synopsa, allowed ARCGNY to sign up hundreds of volunteers for disaster services training. Many of these recently recruited and trained volunteers will be deployed to the Gulf Coast States to help in ongoing relief efforts.
Synopsa also provides e-commerce features that make available products such as disaster preparedness kits, and creates an easy way for visitors to give online donations earmarked for disaster relief efforts or for general funds.
ARCGNY's other goal with the web redesign was to help raise the profile of the New York chapter and improve marketing efforts. The new design from RE:Creative and interactive strategy from Juxta Digital have enhanced the site's usability by focusing on key messages and creating easy navigation to ARCGNY's core services. Synopsa also streamlines content creation and maintenance, making it easier for ARCGNY's webmaster to add pages, update content, and respond to the latest current events.
