Designer SKYE LEE Debuts First Accessories Collection With The GRACIE" Laptop Bag

Classically Styled, Highly Functional, and a Breeze at Airport Security.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) October 3, 2005 -- You may have noticed that airport security has become a tad cumbersome. The first take-off now involves removing ones clothes, shoes and laptop at security -- a process made all the more onerous if youre toting several bags.

Designer Skye Lee, a former high-tech exec and frustrated frequent flyer, decided to use her UI skills (thats User Interface for us non-techies) to address the problem. Her solution? The Gracie -- a smart, streamlined carry-all that consolidates purse, briefcase and laptop case into one stylish bag.

The Gracies features include roomy compartments that can hold all your work and play gear (Blackberry, notebooks, makeup case, in-flight read, etc.); an easily-accessible, exterior laptop compartment that makes it easy to slip out your PC or Powerbook; and clean, classic styling that pairs perfectly with jeans or work wear.

As the former Vice President of Product Design at PayPal, a pioneering Internet finance service that is now an eBay company, Lee traveled regularly from Silicon Valley to Europe and across the U.S. Crossing countries and time zones, she longed for a bag that was a better travel companion:

I was always lugging my purse along with my big, black laptop bag," says Lee. I wanted to create something stylish that would help me get me through airport security faster and which could also hold my notebook, makeup bag and everything else."

After leaving PayPal in 2003, Lee focused on creating that perfect travel accessory. Named for Lees best friend, the Gracie laptop bag is now available. Its features include:

- An exterior laptop compartment. Well-padded and featuring a Velcro closure, its accessibility helps expedite passage through airport security lines. Holds up to a 15" laptop.

- A second exterior, slide-in compartment for files, ipod, Blackberry or any other items you want easy access to en route.

- A roomy, main zippered compartment to hold additional items that never seem to fit in a traditional laptop bag: makeup, wallet, your in-flight read, face spray, etc. The compartment also features tailored accessory pockets for cell phone, keys, pens and ID card.

- The Gracie is also Teflon coated to be stain resistant -- helpful when you havent quite balanced that latté on the arm of your aisle seat.

The Gracie is the first in a forthcoming series of travel bags and accessories from Skye Lee. She plans to debut coordinated accessories for the Gracie, including wallets and makeup bags, later this year and to debut new bags in early 2006.

So the next time an airport security guard directs you to dissemble the chic ensemble you just finished pulling together, at least one accessory can help streamline the process. Now if only we could help with the strappy sandals.

The Gracie is $165 and available at www.skyelee.com.
