DuraComm Corporation Introduces New RLP-5048 Power Supply - 'When Small Size and Light Weight Matter'

DuraComm introduces the new RLP-5048 - Commercial, Heavy Duty AC to DC Power Supply.

North Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) October 3, 2005 -- DuraComm Corporation introduces the NEW RLP-5048 -- Commercial, Heavy Duty AC to DC Power Supply, the latest in the growing line of RLP Series products. It offers 50 Amps and 48 VDC Output in a ventilated, gold irridite aluminum chassis that is 13" deep and 5 ¼" high. The front panel is powder-coated aluminum that measures 19" wide (17" without handles). The unit's weight comes in at 30 pounds which is significantly less than competitive units at several hundred pounds each.

The new power supply came about as a result of a special order for a customer in the telecommunications industry who had a specific testing" application that called for replicating the capabilities of a much larger and much heavier transformer" type power supply but in a space-restricted setting. According to JC Sanders, DuraComm's VP of Marketing, in less than three weeks, using our existing RLP Series as the core component, we were able to design, build and deliver a unit for their particular requirements that offers up to 2400 Watts of output power at an 80% efficiency level."

THE RLP-5048 is designed for 220VAC only. It offers a floating DC output and can be used in positive or negative ground applications without any changes. In addition to its size advantage the RLP-5048 includes multiple fans, i.e. redundant fans between the case and the individual modules within the case.

The power modules used in the RLP series are UL Recognized for USA and Canada. They also have TUV (German) and CE (European) safety approvals, making them truly international spec compliant. Protections against over load, over voltage and over temperature are standard along with the DuraComm 2-Year Warranty.
