AVN has announced its partnership with Parents In Adult, a developing organization to support parents who work in the adult industry.
AVN will provide exposure for Parents in Adult in its magazines and on its websites, and work in conjunction with the organization to further non-profit efforts.
ÂIt's fantastic to have a company like AVN behind a project like this, said Chris Potoski, founder of Parents In Adult. ÂIt's apparent that AVN has been interested in, and rightly so, bridging the gap between the Internet and video side of the industry. This particular issue bridges that gap.
ÂThose who know us or have read the ÂParent or Pariah article published in AVN Online, July 2005 understand that this is an important issue to us and an altruistic cause, he continued. ÂIt was put together simply to support the parents who work in this industry.Â
Tony Lovett, editor and publisher of AVN Online and a concerned parent himself, commented, ÂParents in Adult addresses a need in this industry that has been overlooked for too long, so we've been interested in helping them any way we can since their cause first came to our attention. We not only want to aid in the fight against persecution and prejudice towards families whose livelihoods depend on the adult industry, but also provide a support network to inform, educate, and improve the parenting skills of those same people.Â
Parents In Adult has a limited version of the site available now however the organization will officially launch on October 31, 2005.
