(PRWEB) October 3, 2005 -- The Future of Jazz series will record a live compilation CD on October 9th, November 13th and December 11th at Churchill Grounds, Atlanta's premier jazz club. Pat Patton of Jammates LLC will fund and produce the project. A Future of Jazz tour throughout Georgia will follow the February 2006 CD release. Proceeds from the sale of the CDs will be donated to the City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs for the 30th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival in 2007.

"I am so excited about the evolution of The Future of Jazz competition," says Future of Jazz founder Tammy Allen. "This is an innovative way to promote career growth and create positive revenue streams for artist and cultural entities."

The Future of Jazz, a competition to showcase original jazz, was started in February 2004 in conjunction with The City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs for The Atlanta Jazz Festival. 45 groups have participated in 4 series of competitions with their original compositions. 11 previous winners and participants, who have performed at the Atlanta Jazz Festivals, The Rialto Theatre and The Atlantis Music Conference, will each contribute one original composition to the CD.

The Atlanta Jazz Festival is an annual commitment from the City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs to provide quality Jazz programming during the Memorial Day Weekend. The Office of Cultural Affairs supports programs that educate and expose the public to a rich and diverse range of cultural expressions through a variety of initiatives such as the Atlanta Jazz Festival.
