The American Red Cross Central North Carolina Chapter received a generous contribution from employees of homebuilder HandCrafted Homes of Henderson, N.C. The company matched the employee contribution, pushing the donation to over $15,000 to support relief efforts for hurricane victims.

Employees of HandCrafted Homes in Henderson pulled together to help support victims of recent hurricanes. HandCrafted Homes, a regional homebuilder and subsidiary of developer HHHunt, was able to raise over $7,000 for the American Red Cross through contributions from its employees and managers. HHHunt then matched the contribution, bringing the total donation to $15,282.

“This donation came in part from the employees of HandCrafted Homes and will go immediately towards relief efforts for Gulf Coast residents impacted by recent hurricanes," said Rick Norwood, branch manager for the Vance County Red Cross.

Bill Murray, general operations manger for HandCrafted Homes, was not surprised at the generous donation his company and its staff were able to collect. “This is one of the most compassionate groups of people I have ever been associated with,” Murray said of his company. “They assist those in need on a regular basis.”

“It demonstrates the types of individuals that work at HandCrafted Homes,” added Norwood. “Just like the individuals in Vance County, they’re always willing to help their neighbors, and in times of crisis, we all consider those in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and anyone in need to be our neighbors.”
