The Cambridge House Wins Medal at The Great American Beer Festival®

New Brewpub wins gold medal at elite beer competition.

Granby, CT. (PRWEB) October 5, 2005 -- The Cambridge House Brewpub recently claimed a gold medal at the 2005 Great American Beer Festival Competition, the largest national beer competition that recognizes the most outstanding beers produced in the United States today. The top three winners in the competitions 69 beer-style categories were announced October 1 at the 24th Annual Great American Beer Festival Awards Ceremony held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colo.

The Cambridge House was recognized in the cellar or unfiltered beer-style category for its Copper Hill Kölsch, a traditional German style beer brewed using German malts and Noble hops, then fermented with ale yeast and cold conditioned. Using these techniques creates the crisp, clean balance this style is known for.

The 2005 Great American Beer Festival Competition winners were selected by an international panel of brewing experts from an impressive field of 2,016 entries received from 398 U.S. Breweries. More than 1,400 breweries were invited to compete. The Great American Beer Festival is the premier judging event for the American craft beer industry", says Nancy Johnson, Festival Director.
