Forty Eager Que Enthusiasts Scheduled for Fast Eddy's Class, December 2, 2005

Serious competition cooks and backyard barbecue chefs to meet in rural Oklahoma in early December to learn the secrets of championship barbecue.

Ponca City, OK (PRWEB) October 6, 2005 -- On December 2nd, 2005 a mixture of 40 serious competition cooks and backyard barbecue chefs will convene in Ponca City, OK to learn just how barbecue masters Ed “Fast Eddy’ Maurin and Paul Schatte prepare meats worthy of championship status.

The intensive one-day hands-on event guides students through the maze of selecting cuts of meat, marinades, rubs, smoking woods and smoking techniques. Students will prepare a variety of meats and smoke-cook them in the Fast Eddy’s by Cookshack pits provided by event sponsor Cookshack, Inc.

Ed “Fast Eddy” Maurin, creator of the Fast Eddy’s by Cookshack line of smokers, is a veteran contest winner with dozens of trophies to his name. He invented the Fast Eddy’s smokers to serve an unmet need in BBQ, and joined with Cookshack in the manufacturing and marketing of the 100% wood burning ovens in late 2003.

Paul Schatte, General Manager of Head Country Food Products, Inc., is a 15-year veteran of professional competitions. Awards won include Jack Daniel's World Champion 1994, Reserve Grand Champion American Royal Invitational 2004, as well as over 25 State Championships.

Previous faculty for the event includes Ray Lampe, well-known as “Dr. BBQ” on the contest circuit.

Previous class members have since gone on to win numerous competitions, including the Cabela’s Grand Fork Competition and the 8th Annual Art of Barbeque.

The $200 class fee can be applied to the purchase of a Fast Eddy’s smoker. To register, call 1-800-423-0698 and ask for Erin.

Cookshack, Inc. has manufactured fine quality smoker ovens for over 40 years. The Fast Eddy’s by Cookshack line was added to round out Cookshack’s product line in late 2003. Cookshack and Fast Eddy’s by Cookshack smokers are used by commercial operations, home users, and competition cooks.
