Frightening Ghost Story a New Release for Halloween

New audience trend wanting "supernatural" entertainment matched by launch of gothic thriller "Ramiel."

Calgary, AB (PRWEB) October 5, 2005 -- Newly released thriller "Ramiel" http://www.ramiel.ca is part of a new trend in "supernatural" entertainment taking hold of television, film and books. Audiences wanting scary stories can watch a host of hits in this fall's film and TV lineup including "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" on the big screen and "The Night Stalker" (ABC) and "Ghost Whisperer" (CBS) on primetime.

Has the pendulum swung away from people reading legal thrillers and watching reality TV or is this just part of the Halloween season? The fantastic response audiences have given to horror movies like "The Ring" and mystery books such as the "Da Vinci Code" show there may be room for mixing thrills, mystery and the supernatural.

Author Jim Slobodzian, launching his new gothic thriller "RAMIEL, Angel in Ruins", says that perhaps the mass audience is looking for something new amid the doctor, lawyer and reality stories we've seen the past few years. "It's exciting that more people are interested in supernatural thrillers like "Ramiel." Stories that take you out of your comfort zone can be scary -- what happens when we encounter the unknown and our ordinary lives are turned upside down? But they can be good fun too. Halloween is a perfect time for people to explore new books filled with gothic angels, ghosts haunting graveyards and spooky-but-loveable characters."

About The Book
"RAMIEL is a unique, prairie gothic filled with exciting twists and turns -- it will keep you on the edge of your seat. But I've sprinkled enough humor in it so we can all get a good night sleep."

In this story Michael leads a quiet, ordinary family life -- that is until he dies. When Michael is in a car accident he meets the gothic angel Ramiel, who returns him to life, but with a price -- he must commit murder.
Michael soon learns Ramiel's mysterious appearance is tied to the tragic death of a monk who haunts the ruins of St. Norbert monastery. Racing to discover the truth about the monk's death, Michael's average life takes on the speed of an accelerating nightmare toward a looming deadline...and lives hang in the balance. The struggle between good and evil is filled with shadows, but in the end he must decide.
