Think Tank Photo Releases First Backpack to Hold Large Lenses and Fit in Airline Overhead Compartments

Think Tank Photo announces the release of Airport Addicted, the first backpack designed to hold large lenses (e.g. a 400 2.8 with lens hood and a 300 2.8), as well as multiple SLR bodies and a laptop computer, and fit within airline dimension requirements for overhead storage compartments.

(PRWEB) October 7, 2005 -- Think Tank Photo announces the release of Airport Addicted, the first backpack designed to hold large lenses (e.g. a 400 2.8 with lens hood and a 300 2.8), as well as multiple SLR bodies and a laptop computer, and fit within airline dimension requirements for overhead storage compartments.

To aid photographers in getting their gear through the airport and safely onto the plane, Think Tank Photo has posted a free article entitled “Fear for your gear while running through the airport.” Filled with advice from noted photojournalists, this article can be found at www.thinktankphoto.com/airport

Airport Addicted is designed with these features:

  • Airport security staff can inspect all equipment stored in the bag without having to dig through multiple compartments, speeding time through security.
  • A removable 15-inch laptop case with lightweight shoulder strap is stored in its own easily-accessible compartment for quick airport security inspections.
  • Airport Addicted ships with a seam-sealed removable rain cover and shoulder straps that tuck away for storage.
  • Stretchable Span-Kodra front and side pockets for storage of cell phones, clothing, water bottles, and other items.
  • A simple monopod/tripod mounting system.
  • Inside separator allows gear to be accessed through the front pocket without having to lay it on the ground or mud.
  • Lockable zipper sliders.

“Airport Addicted was designed to get photographers and their gear through airports and onto the airplane quickly and all in one piece,” said Doug Murdoch, Think Tank Photo president and designer. “There are few more fear-inducing experiences for photographers than to have to check their gear at the airport. For the first time, they can carry their largest lenses, as well as multiple bodies and accessories, on their back and store it near them on the plane.”
