New Movement to Fight Skin Cancer: MDTV® PSA is Available to Air Nationwide to Help Fight Skin Cancer and Promote 'Sun Safety'

The PSA is available to air through the end of October to help promote "Sun Safety" as a way of life. The American Cancer Society has projected that one American dies every 68 minutes from melanoma. According to the WDS, this epidemic can be prevented with the help of important "Sun Safety" tips practiced daily during outdoor activities. Reaching out to different communities across the United States in a 15-city tour, "Families Play Safe in the Sun" responds to today’s urgent need for greater awareness about skin cancer prevention.
The WDS will be offering free skin cancer screenings, educational materials, and dynamic sun protection activities Thursday, October 27th at the 2005 California Governor and First Lady’s Conference on Women and Families, 300 East Ocean Boulevard and on Friday, October 28th and Saturday, October 29th from 9am-4pm at the Aquarium of the Pacific, 100 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, California.
