The North Pole is thrilled that their musical epic "SANTA AND SONS & daughter!" has been selected for the KidsFirst! Film-Video Festival. Produced by the Coalition for Quality Children's Media, in just six years KidsFirst! has become the largest children’s film festival in the world. It is traveling to 60 cities and reaching an audience of more than 300,000 this year through collaborations with children’s museums, non-profit film centers and similar groups. Publicity for this year’s festivals will generate more than 200 million marketing impressions.

The KidsFirst! Film-Video Festival is dedicated to “promoting excellence in children’s films and engaging children as film critics, curators and filmmakers,” adds President and Founder, Ranny Levy. Believing that media profoundly affect children (and doing something about it), the Coalition is a voluntary collaboration comprising more than 10,000 media professionals, lobbyists, policymakers, child advocates, educators, parents and families nationwide. "Being selected for this festival is a real coup," according to Director, Robert Battaile. "We're all about positive and entertaining programming. These venues will help us reach a family audience with what's become an endangered species ... the American musical."

The movie is fantasy, adventure, romance and comedy. "It's an intellectual kid's movie with a different look and feel. There's no car chases or shopping malls," continues Battaile who co-wrote the show and most of the music nearly twenty-five years ago. "Our songs actually have melodies and lyrics." The bed music tracks were recorded in Austin TX in 1981, so it's authentic retro rock 'n roll Santa. Judge for yourself by checking out some of the new clips.

Calexas, the production company from Napa Valley and San Francisco is hoping the show creates a real buzz this holiday season. "The last press release about our premier at the Gloria Film Festival was read by over 132,000 people including 1,400 media outlets thanks to prweb.com and other news services and blog sites. And, that's just the ones we could count. Not bad for a Christmas story that ran in August." Thanks to all for spreading the word.

About the new clips:

1. Santa's daughter Sandy Claus and younger brother Klaus take her talking Anti-gravity sleigh, Blaise to help Zwerkin with his Tele-Santa Game and to get Snavely to renegotiate a bogus $20 billion licensing deal. (http://www.calexas.com/media/blaise1.mov :26 3.3MB)

2. The villain Snavely has captured the well-intentioned elf Jan and Zwerkin's son, Silvin who have inadvertently delivered the Teleportation Device into Snavely's clutches. Singing maniacally about "deer kabobs and antler soup," Snavely Claws puts on his black Santa-suit and beams up to Santa's domed North Pole estate. 3. "Teleportin" The inventor, Zwerkin and Sandy agonize and sing about perfecting the Teleportation Device so Santa can get into houses without chimneys. Song was shot at Villa Amarosa, an amazing castle/winery in Napa Valley and features the distinguished children's choral group VOENA (http://www.voena.org) as dancing elves. 4. Mel's Discovery. At the North Pole Command Center, Santa is getting ready for his big night but nervous about the missing elves. Their helicopter pilot, Mel (played by Director, Robert Battaile after the original actor hurt his hip the night before) has made a gruesome discovery of some smashed peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwich chips that may have been taken by mountain lions down at the Outpost. 5. "Close Your Eyes" Santa's helper and powerful sprite Deidle joins Zwerkin in singing this beautiful lullaby to the little girl, Bethany. Deidle is played by Holly Stell, a 12 year old virtuoso singer with VOENA, and yes Virginia that is her real voice. (http://www.hollystell.com) (http://www.calexas.com/media/lullaby1.mov 1:15 9.5MB)
