2006 Living History Makers Award Reception - Call for Nominations!
TPC Foundation, Inc. announces a 2006 Call for Nominations to its 13th Annual Living History Makers Reception. The Reception honors every day community heroes and will be held during Black History Month on Thursday, February 23, 2006.

Who/What:
TPC Foundation, Inc. and Turning Point Magazine are proud to present the 13th Annual Living History Makers Award 2006 reception, February 23, 2006 in Los Angeles.
Why:
For the thirteenth consecutive year, TPC Foundation, Inc. and Turning Point Magazine will celebrate Black History Month by honoring California’s African American Living History Makers -- those unsung heroes who give tirelessly and selflessly to others. The recipients will be awarded a trophy, commendations by public officials, profiled in Turning Point Magazine and online at turningpointmagazine.com and tpcfoundation.org, and featured at the congratulatory award reception.
When:
The Awards will be presented February 23, 2006 in California at a spectacular reception ceremony.
Criteria:
Nominees must have a minimum of 2 years as a California Business/Resident.

Categories: For 2006, there are FIVE categories of which to make your nominations:
NEW for 2006 - “Emerging Living History Maker”:
Individuals up to the age of 21 that have shown an unusual
commitment to their community or have demonstrated
extraordinary entrepreneurial spirit!
“Advocacy”:
Individuals who defend others’ rights and work to ensure
fairness and justice
“Education”:
People in the field of education who are making positive changes or who have been especially inspiring to students, teachers, parents and administrators
“Arts & Entertainment”:
Individuals in the arts or entertainment industries who support
African American images or support community empowerment
“Science & Technology”:
Individuals who have made innovative strides in the fields of
science and technology
As long as there is complete application information, nominations are accepted from self nominees (nominating yourself), nominating a community member, co-workers, associates, non-profit workers, community helpers, activists, volunteers, etc.
