Kansas City Native Returns to Showcase Funny New Novel

Kansas City Native Patricia Wilson-Smith is scheduled to return to the area to attend events celebrating the release of her hilariously funny first novel, “Duped By Love” (1534 Press, $16.99, 293 pages, ISBN: 0977225003). Visit dupedbylove.com.

Atlanta (PRWEB) October 9, 2005 -- Ms. Wilson-Smith will sign the new book on Friday, October 21st at PF Chang’s on the Country Club Plaza at 4:00 pm, and on Sunday October 23rd at the exclusive spa and salon, “Mane on Main” at 8:00 pm, as well as making several on-air appearances to promote the new paperback.

The new book pokes fun at the antics of a thirty-something femme trying to find love in “Hotlanta”. According to Ms. Wilson-Smith, the book’s heroine, Shelby Stewart, has been “…looking for love ever since she was dumped on her wedding anniversary by her control-freak ex-husband. Unfortunately for her, love owns a brand spanking new pair of Nikes, and has a kick ass sense of humor!”

“When you’re lonely, thirty-ish, and determined to have sex again before you die, you’ll do most anything to find a main squeeze, and Shelby’s no exception”, Wilson-Smith continues. “She’ll try whatever sounds promising, including best friend hook-ups, making ‘virtual love’ online, telephone chat lines, speed-dating, blind dating, speed-dating the blind, and anything else - as long as it’s legal.”

According to a recent study done by the research firm Sperling’s BestPlaces, Atlanta is the seventh worst city in the nation for dating. At a time when even the rich and successful are being duped (Jennifer Anniston, Terry McMillan), that distinction is pretty bad news for the scores of single available women in the city that frequent night spots, sign up for dating services, and scour the Internet looking to find love.
